Goals & Objectives
Goal 1: Student Achievement
The Board expects appropriate curriculum alignment at all levels and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) to be the basic, minimum curriculum. Both Foundation and Enrichment curriculum will challenge and motivate students.
The Board will provide support through funding, policies and resources enabling teachers, administrators and auxiliary staff members to prepare students to meet the standards set by the state and federal education agencies.
Goal 2: Financial Integrity
The Board will continue to monitor the Stat’s School Finance system along with the superintendent as a “Team of Eight” monitor the local budget revenues, expenditures and fund balances to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Goal 3: Professionalism
Board members, along with all employees will be accountable for professional performance and conduct toward students, colleagues, school officials, parents and members of the community.
Goal 4: Safe Schools
The Board will continue to support an aggressive drug and alcohol intervention and awareness program, which will promote a positive and safe learning environment. The Board will ensure the safety of students and staff through the Student Code of Conduct.
Goal 5: Technology
The Board supports the use of technology through staff development for teachers and administrators to effectively integrate technology. The Board will support technology applications through the budget process.
Goal 6: Facilities
The Board actively supports proper maintenance of District facilities through adequate staffing and funding for equipment and supplies. The Board will continually evaluate facilities and the fleet of vehicles for the process of developing long-range goals.
Goal 7: Administrative & Operational Practices
The Board, in conjunction with the superintendent and campus principals will explore campus and organizational staffing patterns to ensure efficient and effective delivery of educational services to students and parents.
Goal 8: Communication
The Board will ensure proper and effective, two-way communication, including the chain of command between the District and Stakeholders in order to establish a mutual understanding of needs, concerns and goals of the District.
